Hands on Bike Maintenance Classes: 
These interactive workshops cover bicycle maintenance essentials, including changing a flat tyre, adjusting brakes, and cleaning & lubing the drive-train; with opportunities to practice on your own bike.

Past sessions

Knox:
MTB specific basic bike maintenance - This 3-hour workshop is an interactive, hands-on MTB-specific bike maintenance experience. Includes demonstration and explanation of MTB maintenance essentials, including setting up your suspension, maintaining disc brakes and replacing pads, changing a flat tyre, instruction to running tubeless, and cleaning and lubing the drive-train. Includes opportunities for participants to check and repair their own bikes, with assistance from the presenters. For 13yo upwards (u18 to be accompanied by a parent/guardian). 
  • Saturday 5th April, 1-4pm, Coonara Community House in Ferntree Gully​
General Bike Maintenance - This 3-hour interactive workshop covers bicycle maintenance essentials, including changing a flat tyre, adjusting brakes, and cleaning & lubing the drive-train; with opportunities to practice on your own bike, and open time to have your bike checked or basic repairs completed at the end of the session. For 13yo upwards (u18 to be accompanied by a parent/guardian). ​
  • Thursday 10th April, 5.30-8.30pm, Coonara Community House in Ferntree Gully

Pop-up Bike Check / Basic Repairs
As part of October Seniors Month 2024, City of Whitehorse are offering this Basic Bike Check & Repair Pop-up event.
Book in for a 15min timeslot and your bike will be given a safety check, and where possible, any necessary basic repairs or adjustments will be completed. You will also be provided with a list of any more complex repairs that need attention from a shop or service centre.
